First let me preface this post with the following:
Sex offenders do exist. I worked with many at the military prison here where we live. Sex offenders come in varying degrees of depravity and of all walks of life from ministers to druggies to young boys. Sex offenses are not to be taken lightly and I am discounting that sex offenses do occur on a daily basis all over the world nor am I saying that sex offenses shouldn't be reported or taken seriously.
Bill Cosby is America's Dad of the 1980s generation. Every week we tuned in to see what else Mr. Huxtable and his all American family would get into and how they would handle it as a family when so many American families were experiencing strife from the influx of divorce and separations. Mr. Cosby came into our living rooms and showed us what we all wanted in a dad: a caring, strong, silly, and smart. When these allegations broke at the end of 2014 many still saw in their mind Mr. Huxtable and not some vile person that allegedly drugged when then raped them. It is still hard to comprehend as he has always had this wholesome image however almost daily new accusations or women come forward with more and more sexual exploits to flaunt to the hungry media networks.
Personally, I do not think Mr. Cosby drugged all of these women and if he did WHY are they just now coming forward? Is he wrong for having multiple affairs on his wife? YES but that is between him and his wife and not us, the public. Was in relationships with women that may have turned sour due to his cutting off funds, affection, etc? I believe so. I believe that these women were either in relationships at some point with him either to further their careers, make money, etc and when it stopped they held out to make money. Even possibly conspiring together to make the allegations and get back at him for his turning on them. Some of these accusers waited 20 or more years to come forward but why? I have been around victims that have waited before but none longer than 5 years or so and even then it was because of being scared of the person because they were still actively involved in the person's life. This is not the case with these women. I believe they see dollar signs and can only think of one thing: greed. Mr. Cosby is by no means a saint however I do not believe he went to the lengths that these women are saying to do these acts. I could be completely blindsided by him and later learn he was guilty however without more facts provided I am firmly in the NOT GUILTY corner.

One person did complain to her mother but her mother did not believe her when she told her something was wrong. She woke up naked in his apartment after a night out with him at 18. Her mother didn't believe her since Bill had been a close friend of the family for such a long time.

DeleteInteresting that a young family friend experienced this years before the accusations were flying in this case. I feel more is being held back because it was Bill Cosby from the public's purview. Very sad that someone can build a successful career and ruin so many lives based off of his reputation as being "America's dad" in the 1980s to now a fallen disgrace of sexual predator. :(
